I'm deciding if its worth a battle or should I just toss all my cap? or slowly watch it die?

has anyone battled with them and completely gotten rid of them?

what all will they be eatting? Digi? Spongodes?

try a fw dip and a placing it in to qt, the nudis will die with out food. after a few weeks or so it should be safe to put your cap back in the display.
pitiful guppy tank.

In my opinion once a cap is dipped in fresh water it seems it might as well just have been tossed  in the garbage. I've never had luck freshwater dipping a monti  and I'm talking just submersing for less than 5 seconds and pulling it back out  I tried that with one monti and it killed the whole colony over night..

that could be due to a few things, the temp could have been different, as well as the ph was not the same. also did you use tap water or ro?

It was just room temp RO so there might have been a slight difference in temp but not much....

if you only have the one monti i would go ahead and try the dip and make sure temp and pH are the same. starving out the ones in the display is the big issue. imo, losing a cap to get rid of these is worth it. they will destroy every monti you get and for me thats bad, since i love montis more than anything. if you do any trading, even if it isn't the monti, make sure you let others know, had someone knowingly "forget" to tell me when trading once, and i had redbugs galore. if you end up losing the cap, i probably have the one you need.

sixlines are also considered great pest-eaters.
