My dad just called and told me he has hundreds of small flat snails in his tank. I am in CA so I couldn't go see them but he says that they are all over his rock and glass. They range in size form 1/16" up to about the size of a finger nail.

How can he control this outbreak of snails? When I get back in town I'll try to post some pictures.

It sounds like Stomatellas. If so then they are good.

Thats what I was thinking but he is concerned with how many he has in the tank. Can you have to many?

I am sure he would be glad to give you as many as you want. You would have to go to Eagle Mountain though.

they will explode and then die off then explode and die off, they go through cycles, its fine in a few months he many only have a couple, and then he will miss the hundreds of them. btw they are great cleaners.
pitiful guppy tank.

If they really are stomatellas then I wouldn't worry about the population. It will change with the availability of food.
