ok, my 300 gallon has cured, ready to install it.  Eric and I both are having trouble finding a company willing to help move the tank into my house.  It will be a total pain in the ass.  Tank weighs, iirc what Eric said, 800 lbs or so.  8 foot long 30 inches wide, 24 inches tall.  Has to go into my basement.  Stairs are 31 inches wide, so the tank has to be turned on its side to go down stairs.  Good thing the stairs are carpeted.

Anyone know a company that would help move it into our house?  Or have a suggestion of HOW to move that big beast in?  It is done and I am frothing at the mouth to get it in.  so HELP!!!

Mac

Try intermountain rigging. I have used them a couple of times to move machinery, they do all kinds of crazy stuff.

Do you have to move it around any corners?  If not, since the stairs are carpeted why couldn't you strap it to a board and have some strong men very gently slide it down the stairs and onto 2-3 of those rolling things that movers use to move really heavy stuff and roll it to where it needs to go.  Now lifting it to the top of the stand I'd suggest some jacks and hoist it a little higher than the stand and then slide it off the board you have strapped it to over to the stand?
Or call a piano mover and see if they would do it since they move pianos that easily weigh that much up and down stairs -- they must have a system to do that.

ok, the massive move has been scheduled.  Tomorrow night we move it in. Anyone who wants to see the move or help let me know. I live in Riverton near Bangater and 12600 south.   Should be all kinds of fun.  BUT, by the end of the week I should have all my little children settled in their new home!!!!
