Is it a sign of low calcium in your tank if all of the empty hermit shells are being eroded away?

Or alk way too high also....maybe.... do you not have test kits? I would buy test kits to find out, if your not going to buy test kits. And just want your water tested once, bring some over and I will test a sample for you

I have a test kit, but I must be doing something wrong because it always shows everything is within normal variances.

What about your Alk levels? If you truly have empty shells dissolving, I would suggest a high level of acidity- or low Alk / PH.
A government strong enough to give you everything you want, is powerful enough to take everything you have.

I used a test strip for PH and it looked normal. I will test again in the morning.
