Alright I just hooked up a calcium reactor on my tank about 2weeks ago and my ph has dropped from 8.3 to 7.8 my mag has went up 1300 to 1400 and my alk has went from 7.8 to 9.6 everything looks good a sept my ph what is the best way to maintain my ph with out dosing buffer. Can I just increase the bubble count or decrease it or can I slow the flow back into the tank to get the ph back up or do I just have to use buffer.
Are you using a controller for your Co2? The reason your Ph is dropping is because adding cO2 to your reactor drops the Ph inside the reactor to 6.1-6.5 to dissolve the media slowly making your effluent rich in calcium and alkalinity. It also drips into your sump at that low of Ph and on small tanks can drop your overall ph. Adding an effluent chamber will help, also dripping it into your fuge will help as well as your macro algae will use up the some of the co2. What size tank do you have?

60 gallon might be a tad small for a calcium reactor. Just watch your Ph don't try a buffer it will just make your alk go through the roof. I would look into an effluent chamber to help raise the Ph before it re enters your tank. What is your Ph inside the rector?
After checking out effluent chambers to see what its for I realized I need to fill my second chamber on my reactor.I was going to put media for my mag but my mag has gone up where I want it.So now all just put media in second chamber to degas it better before it enter my sump. If that doesn't take care of it all definitely going to get a effluent chamber.
If your calcium reactor has two chambers, then that's what the second chamber is for, effluent. What brand of reactor is it? That should help raise your Ph a little before dripping in your sump.
