When you clean the orp probe do you need to calibrate it? If so where do you get the calibration fluid?

I found a good ORP article (it just says to keep clean:

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-12/rhf/feature/

And here's a cleaning kit:

http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detai l/iid/872/cid/147

I did find a pH and ORP recalibration kit but it looked like just pH fluids.

Jeff, I dont believe there is any need to calibrate, at least I havent ever read anything about calibrating it. Just keep it clean and free from algea.

ORP standards can be made or bought from a number of places.  A Zobell solution with an ORP of 231 +- 10 mV can be had at http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/product_view.asp?sku=05478 60&cls=21695&par=&cat=1&sch=257&pfx=& ;lstBool=true#tech

Or even better is a saturated solution of quinhydrone in pH 4, 7 and/or 10 buffer solution.  The quinhydrone can be had at http://www.labdepotinc.com/chemical_details~pid~Q2010.aspx or a calibration kit with everything is at http://www.reefsplendor.com/pages/aquadyne/calibration.html

It might be worth the $25 to know when your probe needs replacing.  Or maybe ignorance is bliss
