My dad is starting a 72 gal bowfront and we are trying to figure out what to get and where to get it. We were thinking two 250 watt metal halides with two 48" vho's or 96 watt pc actinics on the sides. If you folks have any suggestions (brands, types, where to buy, etc.) please chime in it is greatly appreciated.

On a 72 I would go with 400W's, they are not much more money than 250's.  Perhaps T-5's for actinic supplementation, but they are a bit more money.  I think the Weimers may still be trying to sell their lights.

If your going with VHO you can set up a workhorse 5 ballast with 2 4 foot VHO bulbs for MUCH cheeper than buying it all put togeather.
