I'm new to all of this so please be a little patient.

Do you think 2 65w pc is enough for a 37 gallon tank?  I only have 1 finger leather right now, but am interested in getting into sps.

Thanks for your input.

Alan,

That's enough light for almost everything, but not most sps.  I have a 37 gallon with 2 65w pc, and my anemone does great, my frogspawn has doubled in size in the past six months, and my leathers, mushrooms, and zoanthids all grow like crazy.  I have some branching montipora (I'm not sure exacly what kind) and it grows well.

If you already have the lights - they'll work until it's time to upgrade to sps.  If you don't have them, you'll want to go with metal halide if your end goal is sps.  It's worth the investment I'm sure.

If you want to come check out my setup send me a pm.

Brady

My tank has been up and running for about 2 years with the PCs.  Thanks for the advice.

I'm looking at the new lights by Corallife (I think that's the name) that has a single MH, 2 PCs, and a moonlight.  Do you think they are worth the cost?  Or would I be better off trying to retrofit a MH to my system?

Thanks again for your input.

Thats a good unit. But a retro fit kit would do great also. Its just how you would like to see you tank. I'd go see some people's tanks and get an idea of how the lights look.
