Topic: BTA v. star polyp? Posted: May 24 2005 at 11:53am |
|
I have a BTA that moved right next to a patch of green star polyps during a power outage. Now the star polyps don't look so good. They look like wilted plants, the ones that come out anyway. A good percentage don't even come out now. Was wondering if its the BTA that is doing this, or maybe the clown nipping at the star polyps because they are too close to the BTA, or is it just that my star polyps are not happy? Any ideas? I guess the simple thing would be to just move the polyps, but that would mean tearing the animal up a bit.

If it were me I would either carefully move the polyps or point the powerhead at the BTA until it decides to move. Although I'm no expert so you'll want a second opinion.

Hadn't thought of just pointing the powerhead at it. Thanks for the idea!

Whenever my BTA is somewhere I don't want it I cover it from the
light. Usually I use a rock, but have also used with good success
a plastic cup.

My Anemone completely decimated my Star Polyps If there are any
left, they will recoup, but the ones that were damaged were lost, and new
polyps had to grow.
