Maxijet 1000 pumps can be made to do alternating currents at 90 degree angles. it's cool.

But ample circulation is probably not the only or even the major reason for SPS polyps not extending though it cetainly can lead to reduced metabolism and difficulty surviving.

Here's my take on it after what's been said already.

I believe the problem has something to do with whatever is causing the Ca to read at 590. That is very high. I can't believe that alk could be at 11 with Ca that high!

I suspect the Lugols Iodine is causing problems too. Iodine is an element that most people don't even worry about and their coral are just fine. Lugols products are also known to cause odd problems.

I'll try to call and drop by next the time I'm in the neighborhood. You live awful close to SSilcox. He keeps an awesome tank of mostly large LPS.

Hello everyone,

Quote What is a MVT wave?

No personal experience with this piece, but I assume it lives up to it's claims:

http://www.exoticfish.com/details.cfm?cat=0|1978|1963|1908|0 &id=42463&af=

Quote Where can I find these things?

Here are the other two:

The natural wave timer (i've used and it works very well):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46310 &item=2395250016&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V

The powersweep (i've used, it was good and bad):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46312 &item=4332160701&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Remember that not only are these new, you could probably find better prices if you looked. Used pieces turn up on ebay or on the board if you keep your eyes peeled.

Sounds familiar,.. installing a timed switch to reverse current?

Thanks,
Chris
