I emailed hydor and was informed by them that you cannot use their heaters in sump with a mag drive. apparently the mag drive causes the thermostat to fail. !!!! this was defnetly not hte problem in mine as i have an external return pump, but just wanted to let everyone know.

Any chance they are going to do anything about your broken heater?

wow, I wonder if that is what caused mine to fail then.  I have sence stop using the heater in my sump.
