Where do you buy pickling lime? I've only been able to find small containers of spiced pickling lime at the grocery store. Thanks. .

I just buy it from Walmart. It's the Ms Wages Pickling Lime.
$3 bucks for a one pound bag. I get like four bags and it last me a year. Also when you go to Walmart just ask someone right away where it is. Because they always have it tucked in some weird place. For some reason at my Walmart it was right next to the electronics.

Found mine near the area where they keep totes and storage containers. Not sure what Walmart was thinking there.

Thanks! I'll check out walmart
I'm using it to make a kalk paste to kill aiptasia on live rock I'm moving into another tank. I have a massive infestation and aiptasia x is going to be too expensive in the quantities I need.

Builder -- their pickling limes of course! No, they are using it for dosing. Cheap source of calcium.

Its kalwasser, calcium hydroxide, pickling lime...all the same thing..... I once had it explained to me from a chemist how it becomes cal/alk once it hits water. Don't remember all, but its used to maintain, not raise

It took 3 places (2 walmarts didn't have it) but we finally got some at Macy's. My wife was thrilled (she is the one who started the post). We made sure to buy plenty.

A tiny bit of RO water to make a smooth paste. Suck it into a syringe and feed it to the Aiptasia. The syringe that comes with the Salifert test kits works well because it has a short smooth rounded tip. Yes, the Aiptasia will ingest the paste when the tip is carefully placed at the mouth while squeezing out the paste.
