Just curious about the numbers of people who have a controller and what their thoughts are on them. I've been toying around with the idea of getting one, but I'm a fence sitter for now. I don't mind the maintenance level I have with my tank currently and I'm not thinking about getting one to increase automation as much as I am for the simple safety and caution factor a controller adds to a system.
Even though I consider myself mildly computer literate, I get lost when something requires me to change my "subnet mask" or get a dyndns account to have a static IP address. It may be more simple than I'm making it out to be, but my history with remote setups liek this has lead to more frustration than satisfation. Since my main reason for getting a controller would be so I could monitor my status when I'm away from home and/or to get email alerts when things go wrong, I'm hesitant to take the next step due to my lack of computer savvy.
