How do I connect a vinyl tubing for a 1 inch bulk head. Also where do I buy the material needed I've been around to lfs but no one had anything in stock I'm setting up a 75 Gallon tank with a 1inch bulk head and a two 1/2 inch returns where do I get the tee connectors and ball valve if needed thank for your input.

lowes carrys spa-flex pricey but the best for flow,
also they carry the clear reiforced hose, then walk over to the sprinker area for the hose to pipe fitting connectors, they are usually grey or black
if there is any way that you can change that to 1 1/2 inch supply and 1" drains you will be way happier in the future, I wish that I had put a 1 1/2 supply in my 90..

I dont recommend Polyp pipe I would spend the extra money on Spa-Flex pricy but worth it. I used the clear Poly pipe on a tank before and algea would grow inside since light passes thru.

I went to lowes and ask the guy there if he had the spa tubing for the bulk head he said he didnt have any that size and i would need to go to a specialty shop is this true can you tell me what color the tubing is thank you

Go to HD, that is where I bought mine from. I would not use vinyl either. The spaflex uses regular pvc pipe glue and will work just fine. It was I think $2.30 or something per foot. If you want more return flow you can drill a couple more holes for returns or put in a Seio or modified Maxi jet. I would recommend an alternate flow source anyways for backup. Do not plug the power into the same circuit as your return.

lowes/home depot employee's don't know that it is also called spaflex, do a google search so you have a idea on what it looks like, only lowes here in utah county has it.
good to know that it is available in home depots elsewhere.

I used the clear stuff... its a fish tank for heck sakes. use what you want. I like the way that it grows the reds and greens inside of it. besides it was very cheap to do. if you want to come look your more than welcome to come see. Rhine

Yes it is a marine aquarium with very many dollars work of animal life. Vinyl tubing is less reliable than flexible pvc. The clamps rust from the salt creep and it is generally a pain in the butt. Flexible pvc will bend and not pinch so if you are needing tighter bends, I would not choose vinyl. However you are correct, each of us can use what we want and what works for me may not fit anothers needs. For me, having used both, I prefer the spaflex.

Lowes carrys Spaflex, the people that work there just don't know what it is.... everyone I have ever been in carries it though. It is usually on the top shelf above all the vinyl hose.
