I have a calcium reactor that i want to hook up the thing holding me back is that my P H is low to begin with. it stays between 7.9 and 8.1 it depends on the time of day i have tried to raise it but that is a short term fix and it drops again so i choose to let it be consistent. anyway does anyone else have this problem? do you run the reactor or just dose please help.
Thanks Tyler

I ran a CA reactor on my 120 and the PH stayed at 7.9 the corals colored up nicely and the tank was easier to take care of due to not having to dose every day. I have never dosed Kalkwasser but this may be another option for you.

I used to have that problem too until I located the effluent line to the furtherest place away from my return.  Now it has to get past my skimmer to get back into the main tank and my pH is 8.1 in the am and 8.4 in the pm.  I also have a dual chamber and that does seem to help some.  One question comes to mind...what are your other parameters?  Alk and Mg for sure needs to be tested.

My PH was 7.9 all the time ... since adding the CA reactor my PH is now 8.2 - 8.3 day and night ... my coral has never looked better its growing like crazy and I don't have to add alk/ca every day ... and the best part .. is my alk and ca are stable at 10.7 and 420 ....

I would recommend anyone with a SPS dominate tank they run a CA reactor ... its makes life so much easier!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a pH of 7.8 or 7.9 as long as it is stable...  I would not let pH keep me from adding a Ca reactor.  I just personally avoid Ca reactors as I prefer to manually control additives...
