I have a frogspawn coral that is getting way to big. Unfortunately I missed the meeting last month on how to frag. :(
I am assuming I just take it out of the tank and cut it where some of the branches meet?
After I am done, anyone need frogspawn? :)

The one on the right needs to be cut.

Branching coral may be the easiest to frag. A nice cut or a snap and you're done. Although, a clean cut is better they say. Very nice tank by the way! And, I would love some of your FS.

I hope Suzy isn't posting right now, cause I want frogspawn. I'll even come over and show you how to frag it.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I live in Payson. :)

If I had known people actually wanted some of my frogspawn I would have spoken a few days ago. I am planning on making the long drive up to Bountiful tonight to pick up some Utah Rock from Mark (assuming he is home). I could have dropped some off on my way.
Unless, Adam (anyone) wants to pick it up for me and bring it down in trade for some FS :)

Gshipley,
If you viewed Jakes link, you can see how easy it is to cut the stalk. I like using dikes/wire cutters.
I wouldn't mind a piece of it myself. How about if you just throw the cut branch in a bucket or bag of water and bring it with you when you come to get rock?
The frogspawn below was a bud the size of the sharp end of a pencil growing off the side of the stalk below the main head. Steve Lopez and I broke it off by hand and after placing it in a hole in Utah Rock, it became 2-1/2" diameter heads and grew onto the rock in about six months.

Try removing the space in "Euphyllia" for it to work.

Well....
I will cut/frag the frogspawn tonight and take a few pieces up to Marks on wed night instead of tonight (if thats okay with him). Then people who want a small piece can go there instead of having to drive all the way down to Payson.
Of course, Mark may not want to play pickup depot for everyones frog spawn, but I can't think of another way of doing this without requiring everyone to drive 30 minutes south of Orem.
I dont have any small rock to attach/glue the frags on so I am assuming just giving a branch not attached to anything is fine?

Works great for me. I'll see you tomorrow eve. In fact, I'll ask you to take a bucket of sand to be picked up by Dpoulsen from Mona, if that's alright.
Yes the cuttings are fine just loose and I'll prop them up in my tank so they will do well in my 75 gal phytoplankton tank ( ) until picked up. I have rotifers growing in a 5 gal bucket of the phyto. When they have mutilplied and eaten all that green they are destined for the 75.
Unless the 'pora frags and the few damsels eat them all, I may end up with 75 gallons of rotifers!

Ok, I was able to get four frags. This is the first time I have done this so I am not sure if I did it right......... Hopefully they will survive.
I will be dropping them off at Marks house tomorrow night so go pick em up. Just remember my kindness in the future when you have some frags to give me. :) (sunpolyps)

Though it wasn't a quick peek for me, because I've recently regressed to dial up, it was awesome to see such amazing close-up shots of Euphyllia.

The frogspawn has been delivered to Mark. If you wanted one, go get it. :) There are three nice pieces and one that might not make it.
