Well I thought I had dodged the bullet after I had my torch coral die from BJI and didn't see anything else infected for a whole month but here it is again. A few days ago I spotted some on a xenia and a mushroom. I removed both and did a localized water change to keep the debris down to a minimum. I also added AC to the filter to help keep the toxins down.

Well I checked it today and it looks like another stock of my xenia has caught it and a couple more mushrooms. I even think it might be infecting some red sea xenia clear on the other side of the tank.

I'm open to some suggestions at this point. I really don't know what else to do besides remove the infected coral and do a water change.

I thought Brown Jelly Infection only affected LPS. I didn't think it affected softies.

Sure looks like BJI to me, but I really hope I'm wrong. Here is a shot of the infected xenia before I removed it.

Well I once again did another water change and sucked and cut the infected coral off my rock. I think I did a much better job containing it this time. Tonight I'm going to isolate the suspected xenia on the other side of my fish tank and see how it fairs.

I am also going to try increasing the flow from my ozone to my skimmer by putting an air pump on it (don't worry, I've got the ozone set to shut off if the ORP gets higher then 375). That should help kill the suspected bacteria however, should I pull my activated carbon out before I do this?

Ya know, for something that seems like a prevalent disease (at least in my tank Embarrassed

) there really isn't a whole lot out there you can do for it.
