We recently purchased a rose bubble tip anemone with it's very own clown from jeff. Beautiful critters. We may have had it in too high flow area, and it has now moved under a rock hangover in our tank. It looks great. We are feeding it krill. It's clown is very happy as well.
Question for those of you with experience:
What do we need to keep in consideration to keep this a happy and healthy addition to our tank. We have an 8 light t-5 system, 90 gal. tank.
Just looking for education from those who know. . . .

I keep mine in mediumish flow, hardly ever feed it, i mean i still do maybe once every week or two with some mysis (if the clown doesn't eat it first)... It doesn't bubble tip anymore, but it is still growing and happy. The main thing to notice is that if it is moving, it doesn't like where it is, and is unhappy with the conditions. If it stays, it is happy. These are just my observations from having mine, hope it helps. |

I never feed mine, I just let them do their thing and they are happy. Now if one of my dang clowns would start hosting (I have 4 clowns and 4 or 5 anemones, grrrrr)

| If they have proper flow, light, and a nice hole in a rock to sink their foot into, they will most likely stay. Its usually when one is off, it will wander |

No one really knows why BTA's and RBTA's do and don't bubble. I purchased mine about 9 months ago and it has been all bubbled up for a while but recently just before I changed my lighting it sadly deflated. Other then that it still is looking awesome. I feed mine a mix between silversides and krill. I fed him primarily krill for a while but as he has gotten bigger... much bigger, I feed him about 2 silversides every couple of days and a few krill now and again. I also keep it in medium flow and he's right up there near one of my 250 MH (he picked the spot). Here is a couple of my most favorite shots when it was all bubblelicious-   And a full tank shot to help you realize these guys size potential (when I got him he was about 4" diameter)-  Good luck and post some pics, we would love to see them! Great photos Sculpin. Interesting. . . our rose tip seems to have selected a location where it can back under an overhand at night and spread out during the day. I hope we don't have light problems - it hasn't started climbing yet  . We have 90 gal. with an 8 light T5 system. I will get some new photos today.
I'd love to see more photo's of other anenomes! C'mon Thefu. . . let's see em. . . .

Here are my anenomes: I have two GBTA that like the top of the tank and the back side of a rock up there. Each one is about 8-9" when fully extended. The RBTA I just got from another WMAS member. It traveled down under that ledge and has stayed there for a week now. The clowns started hosting in it on day 3 in the tank.  |

I'll see if I can get some more recent photos of my RBTA. It has changed considerably since I took those pics a few months ago. It has lost most of it's bubbles and has grown about 1/3 large, however it still looks amazing IMO. Sculpin

Sculpin that middle picture is sweet. I give my anemones mysis shrimp and cut up silversides to eat. I cut the silver sides up into pea sized pieces.

i have a green buble tip that moved to where my clowns hang out. now my male hosts, but the female. Its not really green.. and it doesnt bubble, but other then that it looks healthy and happy, but i cant get it to eat anything i feed it. I have a Curly Q and a Condi, that are like goats, they eat what ever i give them. but the BTA wont eat anything. should i worry?? ------------- Chad A. 20g nano in progres Member~ A.A.A.
