Hi All, What are some of the LPS that can handle high MH light? I have some spots high up in my tank that I don't want to put SPS on...what are some LPS that do well very close to a 150w MH? Thanks! ------------- 55g Bowfront Corner Reef |

| If you start most LPS down low and slowly bring it up to where you want it (weeks, or heck even months), most should be fine |

| I have a ricordia on the top of my rock work with metal halides. like badfinger says light acclimation is the key to keep coral on the top. personally 150w is not that intense compare to the 250 or even to the 400w. but you should still be careful you dont want to sunburn your corals. |

I agree that acclimation is the key. The Euphyllia species do very well in brighter light. They handle it much better, keeping their color much better than any other LPS, in my experience. you read my mind Mark! I agree the Euphyllia species is the best that i have seen! You can put the right under a 400 W MH and they will color up nice and grow really fast and nice! But once again like people have been saying light acclimation will make the difference! ------------- Next meeting: |

My sun corals and dendros are in the top 6" of water in my tanks almost directly uner my T5's and are open pretty much all day. thanks guys, I'll probably get some more Euphyllia's then. I already have a frogspawn but I'll get some others to fill up the top areas of my tank.
