I bought two pieces one really big piece and one smaller. The guy said it will turn my water yellowish to brownish. Is there a way to treat it so it dont I read boiling it helps. Is there other ways?

Driftwood in a saltwater tank. That's a natural look for a freshwater tank but it will cause all kinds of pollution in a reef aquarium.

I agree with Mark -- not a good idea for saltwater

I think it could look awesome! I saw the title of this thread and thought "dang I should put driftwood in with my mangroves."

Brett, I kind of agree with Adam, but if I were to try this, it would not be in a newly set up tank like yours. It's kind of cool how excited you are about the hobby and how many things you are considering and learning along the way.

Yea i saw some tanks with wood in it and though this would be ok since it is usually found in salt water from what I read. I read also it screws with your ph so decided not risk bothering with it. just like the looks of it.
