I just bought some that has never been wet can i just put this in the sump or do I need to do something else to it before adding it to the tank?

PUt it on the tank or sump nothing special to do maybe just rinse it with some water

I agree. It's clean and sterile, just like LBTR that's been blasted clean.

Soak it in RO water for a week. I know it isn't recommended but like most artificial rock, it has silicates in it and it can cause a diatom bloom.

The piece I have now didn't cause any issues but the first piece I got did.
