I have white worms in the sand.  what are they called and how do i get rid of them?

Worms are generally a good thing...do you happen to have a picture?

They are called worms and you should leave them alone. They are part of the reason why we can grow so much more in our aquariums today than we could years ago. They are part of what we call the biofiltration of a reef aquarium.
