I have 2 black white clowns that i would like to see hanging out in my rbta. Ive heard some pepole put a picture of clowns in a nem on the side of the aquaium, but its not working for me. Im wondering if their is anything else i can try to help them learn to hang out in the rbta. Thanks for your help in advance.

Ive seen it done before. But i dont recommend it. I see people catch both clowns and the anenome and put them in a strainer at the top of the water. That way it isolates them with the anenome and they will seek it for refuge.

When I first got my mocha clowns they were very small. I put them in an acclimation box directly above the anemone I wanted them to host . As soon as i let them out they went wild and have never left it. if you can remove the anemone and fish and put them in an acc box until they want to be in it , then place the anemone and leave clowns so they can see it for a few then release them and see what happens . I could be wrong but might work . gl

For a long time my pair of perculas wouldn't host my BTA. I tried the pictures of clowns in anemones trick with no success. I even tried pictures of predator fish to scare the clownfish into the anemone, no luck. Then one night when I was adding some new sand to my system, the water became very cloudy and the next morning my clowns were in the BTA. I think the lack of visibility made them feal threatened enough to seek shelter in the anemone. If they feel safe, then they may never have a need to host an anemone. I'm not saying you should stir up your sand unnecessarily. Just some food for thought.
