Is it a ppt reading? If so you can use this converter to get specific gravity: http://www.saltyzoo.com/SaltyCalcs/SgPptConv.php" rel="nofollow - http://www.saltyzoo.com/SaltyCalcs/SgPptConv.php

If it's reading in brix units you can try this converter but I can't say for sure how accurate that'd be for saltwater: http://www.brewersfriend.com/brix-converter/" rel="nofollow - http://www.brewersfriend.com/brix-converter/

Thanks I think it is in brix dang it. It also says we are way way low. Not sure if that is due to the brix or if we really are.

Might be worth borrowing someone's refractometer or hydrometer or maybe picking up a cheap hydrometer locally to compare against, some stores will check parameters for you also if you bring them a sample to test.

Brix is definitely geared towards alcohol percentage rather than salt so it would make sense if it's just giving you an erroneous reading.

Did it come with instructions on how to calibrate it?
