So for all you people who dose 2 part. Was wondering if your cal intake is ever higher then alk.

My alk inTake a day is 151.8ml= 8.4 dkh
My cal intake is 198= 390 cal
Mag is 1310

So u still need to raise cal.... is this all correct

Oh yes. I'm not great about mixing them perfectly every time. It may also vary if you aren't using very pure sources.

Ok thanks. I just hear most people have a problem with their alk always needing more.

I believe that different organisms utilize Alk and Ca in slightly different ratios. Also different sands and rocks buffer Alk and Ca in different ratios. I've noticed that Utah sand buffers Ca more than Alk so I'm always adding a higher ratio of Alk. On the other hand, Utah Rock releases a higher ration of Alk when it is first placed in the tank.

I tend to dose just a bit more alk than cal just to get where they should be...
