I have 2 old proclear aquatics overflow boxes how do you know how much flow they can handle?

I found somebody selling a model 200 which they say is rated for 1600 gph. That would be a huge overflow box, but I somehow doubt it has that kind of flow because it only uses two 1" U tubes. I'd trust it to handle maybe under 1000 gph, no more. If you don't know the model, what are the dimensions and how is it built, slots, U tubes, drain pipe diameter, etc.? Their website says nothing about overflow boxes. Maybe you could call them after 6 AM MST (8 AM EST) tomorrow morning?

Good pics.
Max flow would be up to but not more than 500 gph. That 1" U tube is a limiting piece, as is the amount of space between the teeth. If you are interested, I can show you how to make modifications that will increase flow, efficiency and reliability. I do it all the time.

To get the most flow I would do 3 things:
1. Cut all the teeth out and replace with the plastic mesh that is used for keeping leaves out of raingutters/drains. I'll try to find the thread...
2. Replace the 1" U tube with one made from 1.5" or larger ABS or PVC pipe. I'll try to find a pic of how I make these....
3. Make a Modified Durso drain. Pics to come.

Thanks Glenn. Your excellent pics are exactly what I was going to link to.
other pics(not so excellent):
large easy prime siphons

modified Durso drain for the back box. I have other pics of this modification done exactly same way on an overflow box, if you text me, I'll send them to you. 808-345-1049
