I am going to be trying out an infinity edge tank. When I bought it, it was plumbed using vinyl tubing and the previous owner said it had been tough to make the overflow section quite. I would like to switch to PVC but I am needing help figuring out how to do the plumbing. The gutter around the tank is about 1.5 inches deep and has 4 bulkheads. I was thinking of trying to do a herbie style overflow plumbing but I worry there wouldn't be enough space between the main and emergency overflows. Any suggestions?

Restricting the drain with a valve can be dangerous. An emergency drain uses up space.

For silencing overflow drains, I love what I call the Modified Durso. It takes much less space than the regular Durso and is absolutely quiet. I can show and tell my Modified Durso if you're interested.

I would certainly be interested in your modified durso.
