Found this:   https://www.biologicaldiversity.org/campaigns/reef_fish_in_peril/pdfs/Poisoned_waters.pdf" rel="nofollow - Poisoned Waters

Do we know this is happening? Do we choose to ignore it? At one time, about 10 years ago, it is believed that because of public outcry, the harvesting of ornamental fish with cyanide pretty much stopped, but today it is widespread once again. Fisherman need to feed their families and collecting fish for food is made easier with poison, which unfortunately, is so readily available that in some locales it's often used for collecting ornamentals as well. Cry

"You should also avoid fish marketed as "tank raised" or 'captive raised' because these fish are typically still collected from the wild, possibly using cyanide."
Really?!? What should they be labeled??
A statement like this discredits the whole article.

While I abhor the atrocities perpetrated against coral reefs while harvesting corals and fish; I think we need to remember that reef aquariums in our homes increases the interest in maintaining reefs around the world and it is this interest which has made many countries successfully set aside as coral parks portions of their shores.  We need an increase in this type of interest till the mutilation of reeefs end once and for all.    If we make a big enough stink about poisoning reeefs it will decrease.  Keep your tanks and fight for what we all want: health whole reefs.
