I'm not sure if there is a topic about this if there is just let me know. So when it comes to copepods amphipods rotifers, phyto plankton etc. What are the best source of nutrition for fish and corals? And just best all are up to for what they do. Also what brands do you recommend/where to buy?

For coral food, you can't beat Benepets. Plus they're local and a great supporter of the club. They had free bottles at the last meeting! Dennis can chime in on what it's done for his tank.

I am not nearly as intelligent as everyone else here, but I have heard a lot of intelligent people say that you don't need to supplement bugs.

I don't supplement bugs and I have tons of them and my corals and fish are thriving.

A lot depends on the age of the tank. A new tank (read that less than a year) needs supplementation of a good variety of pods and bugs. First to introduce them into the system if they didn't come in some other way and second to bring in a population large enough to breed and produce more for the future.

A tank that has been up for 2 or more years probably doesn't need additional pods and bugs unless there was some kind of catastrophic event with the tank the could have killed off the population.

That being said my fish and corals never turn down a good dose of bottle live food being added to the tank.

LOL
In my opinion the smartest people are those that ask questions. Of course, we are all human, so we have lapses of memory. It's all good.
