Hi,

I just bought a rio plus 600 pump to power my hob skimmer/refugium. It doesn't seem to create any bubbles...should it? Fish4U said this model had an impeller that would create a lot of bubbles for a skimmer. Is there a different part that I need in order to do that?

Anything else I could do to create some bubbles?

Thanks.

It should have parts that switch for when you want the bubbles and a different case for when you don't.

There should be a tube you run from a nipple on the intake part(or a part you put on the intake) to air and that's what till create the bubbles

What kind of a hob skimmer is it? It may or may not have a air/tube to introduce air depending on how it is designed. You could always swap out the rio 600 impeller with a needle wheel impeller, but that might not give you the flow you need to make the skimmer work properly. I would find out what the manufacturer recommends and go from there.
Life is good....right?
