we had a bicolor pseudochromis that kept our 180 reef pretty clean of them. You would still find them, but you wouldnt see them crawling around. pseudos are however agressive to other small fish.  other than that just pulling them out when you see them will do some good. They are deutritavores and eat fish poop. they are good for your tank, but they arent fun when they bristle you. my middle finger is actually still really swollen from getting stung by one two days ago.

Are you sure you have a fireworm? While they are not unheard of they are fairly rare. If you have a regular bristle worm then they are nothing to worry about. If it is a fireworm I would doubt that it is hiding and you could just use a net or something to take it out.
