| Hi all, Thanks in advance for your help. Anyway, i have a protein skimmer that seems to stop working. The pump still works but I'm not seeing any bubbles and my tank doesn't seem to be as clean. Is there a way to fix it?? LMK, thanks |

Have you taken apart the area where air is sucked into your pump? sometimes salt build up and other things get stuck right there... I've had to do it to my skimmer before and right after it worked 10x better what type of skimmer do you have anyway? Calcium clogs the ventri where the air enters the water flow. The simplest way to clean the venturi on many skimmers, GSM Skimmers for example, is to leave everything in place but remove the air hose. Find a small diameter screw like a 1-1.25" Grabber screw and ream the hole out with it. | I drilled a hole in my skimmer lid and ran the airline into it many months ago. Skimmer is now silent, and the venturi never clogs. |
