I was just wondering if anyone is using a heater contoller? which ones are best, which ones are crap ect.

get the Reefkeeper Lite from Digital Aquatics. It'll do a lot more than you need and only costs about $100. It comes with enough equipment to automate your heater as well as your lights. Then when you're ready you can always expand the system.

No heater might be ok if you keep your house warm enough. I used a old reef keeper set up awhile ago and it stuck on once lol, since then I use Ranco controllers for my heater. If you bought all the stuff I can wire it up for a back up heater and I can even wire it to average your sump temp and your display temp to have a more accurate temp. The nice thing with a "2 stage" heat set up is that if one heater dies on you, it will kick in the 2nd heater automatically. LMK This goes for anybody else to, I can buy them wholesale and I would wire them up for you for a frag or something! ------------- The time we enjoy wasting isn't wasted time!!!! |

I have a reef keeper lite that I bought for this reason (well this was one of the reasons). I have it controlling my heaters and fans. I havent had to worry about temp swings anymore which is nice and like Steve said it can do a lot more. ------------- |
