Is it just me or do Jake and I sometimes sound like the same person. I think we've spent too much time discussing items in the past.

I think this would be fun if we did it in Feburary or March. After all the big holidays. Whoa whoa whoa, I'm not president. Like I said I'm not sure I'm in favor of it. I think it would be a total blast and we'd have a great time with a nice dinner, spouses, guest speaker. I think it would be the best meeting of the year.

But I'm always against having a charge for meetings. To me, one of the best things about our club is that we have free meetings and welcome all sorts of new people. Then again if it is a once a year type of nice event that would be cool. Maybe something for next years presidency to consider.

For clarification- this event wouldn't add one more event to your calendar. This would be an activity used as the monthly meeting. So it could just be the regular club meeting time and place. (for those concerned with having too much already going on).

More info- found out from another friend that they are doing the same type of thing as this. But during the dinner (which is a fancy dinner) they are having an aquarium guest speaker. A banquet type event with an actual program.

I actually like this idea.

Maybe a meeting like this could be used to boost attendance in a period where it slips down a little? Just a thought. Otherwise, I think it would be great, but probably not close to Christmas. Maybe create an official "club holiday" at some other time in the year to do it?
