Urchins eat coralline algae. The urchin could starve to death in 3-4 months because the rock has very little coralline algae.

Okay I went out of town for 3 days and came home tonight.  First I had one dead fish, one of the damsels.  Not sure why he died as I will explain below my water levels are great.  The other 2 damsels are swimming around lovin live, so not sure what happened there.  Now on to the green stuff.....The green stuff is now like 3" long per strand.  I've concluded its hair algae.  I went to the LFS and they recommended turbo snails, they warned me they can knock stuff over, but at this point I just have the main rock so not too worried.  I put 6 of them in there, as well as 2 crabs.  Think this will get it taken care of?  I also had them test the water, and they said everything was excellent.  They told me they could tell it was a young tank, but no nitrates, nitrite, ammonia levels good, all looked good. 
One more thing, they recommended a long spine sea urchin.  Is this a good recommendation?  In all honesty I'd love to get one as once in Hawaii my mom thought she'd pick one up and needless to say she won't do that again, so I'd love to have one as a conversation piece, and I think they are way cool looking.

Just use photobucket.com - it's free and will resize huge pictures for you automatically unless you specify otherwise.

In general when you set up a tank... it will go gold/brown for a few weeks... then it will go green for a few weeks... then it will clear up... then it will start to go purple.
Best thing you can do when setting up a tank is to leave it alone for a couple months.

Well all is going very well I think.  The worm things come to find out were bristle worms.  The only thing is there were TONS of them, like 50 or 60, and big.  Like 6-8 inches long.  So I have caught quite a few and disposed of them.  I know you all say they were good, but sorry to be a wuss, but they were gross.  Didn't like sticking my hand in the tank, they were just a bit creepy for me.  So now that is better.  On to the next question.....
 
I believe the cycling is going well.  I have about 35 hermit crabs in there, and they seem to be having a hayday!  I've started to grow brown stuff on the bottom of the tank, on the glass, etc.  This seems to be under somewhat control as the crabs seem to eat it.  So I think that is going well.  Now on to my next thing, I'm getting this green stuff growing on some of the rocks, not all, but some have lots of it.  Looks like I may need to mow here soon.  Is this good/bad/indifferent?  Should I just relax and let it do it's thing or take action.  I've attached pictures.  Also the last few days there have been little bubbles coming up from the sandbed, they just seem to appear and rise to the top.  They are also all over the rock.  This normal?
 
Here are some pics of what I'm talking about.  P.S.  A lot of the shells are empty, don't think I overloaded the tank with crabs!

The more you over feed your tank the more bristleworms you will have. If you do decide to remove them do not use your hands. If you do use your hands then vinegar will help disolve the bristles left in your hands and soothe the pain!
