Before using it I tried to shorten the photo period which worked but as soon as I started to increase the photo period it came right back.  I stopped feeding the tank as much and that really didnt work, I increased the flow that didnt work.  I tried these things over a period of a few weeks and I couldnt get rid of it completely so then another board member gave me some red slime remover.  I went home sucked out as much of the slim as I could and followed the instructions on the bottle and I havent seen any red slim since.]]>

It would probably get rid of it, but whatever conditions in the tank that allowed it to grow in the first place need to be addressed or it will probably come back after the treatment.]]>
