Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were speaking of gluing plug-to-rock or rock-to-rock. That makes sense.
Personally, that's the situation where I would use the more permanent epoxy instead of superglue. To avoid that altogether, half the time I attach frags to fist sized pieces of Utah Rock. Well alot of the frags I have are encrusted on small pieces of live rock or on frag plugs. I usually just glue that to my bigger rocks. I am not sure if u are aware but it takes a really long time for them to encrust the small rock completely and then onto the larger rock. During that time is when it gets knocked off. However I really like turbo snails they hunt for food all day and night. As always Mark I dont know where I would be without your "expert" opinion. Im sure I would be completely lost.....

The idea of gluing frags is to use just a little so that the coral grows around it and cements itself to the rock in a few weeks. A small dab just enough to cover the bottom of the cut is what I use.

I also avoid Turbo Snails.

If it's Euphyllia (frogspawn and it's cousin varieties) and I can't find a nice hole that will hold the stalk, then I may use epoxy with a sand coating to make it look more natural.

Im thinking about trying some of this IC gel. I have always used superglue gel. Im starting to get sick of it though. I noticed it gets brittle over time then my turbo snails knock the frags off. Does this stuff stay strong? I have used lots of different brands of glue and IC-gel is by far the best glue I have used. I buy larger 20g tubes on eBay for cheap and it lasts a long time. It also comes with an extra tip in case you forget to put the cap on and it plugs off.

I have had the best success with the extra thick glue I get from MRS Hobby Shop in Sandy. Usually takes around 30 seconds underwater to stick. I get the 2oz. bottle for around $8. It lasts forever.

E6000 is not for gluing frags to rocks. It is an adhesive for gluing acrylic to glass and has to be used on a clean dry surface. I also use the super glue gel from the dollar store. I have also got some super glue gel from my husbands work(O'reily Auto) and it sucked! I think out of the ones I have used the cheap stuff from the dollar store has worked the best.

I use IC-GEL. I have used dollar store superglue  but I think you get more in a tube of ic-gel than you would in the same "dollar for dollar" amout of superglue. And it is better in my opinion. I ask someone to pick me up some from the dollar store and this e6000 is what I got back, So I tried it. But before I did try it I did look it up on Google and one of the results was utahreefs.
