I'd set a power head on either side of the rock work and do 10 min on one side and 10 min on the other. If the noise is bad just up it to 1 hour on each side. You could get some awesome laminar flow around that puppy.

That's how it is in the wild, yet many expert hobbyists have noted that alternating linear flow does the job and is easy to create.
In each tank, some experimentation is necessary. You can tell within a week if a coral likes where it's placed.

bstuver wrote:

I'm wondering where the best placement would be for all my sps frags.

In the sun.
I have a large Birdsnest colony that was brown 3 months ago when I got it from Nick801. As with any coral, there are always exceptions and you may find yourself adjusting SPS frags up or down to get the color they originally were, etc. I always ask what kind of lighting the coral came from, height in tank, flow, etc. when I'm buying corals/frags from fellow reefers.

In my tank with T5's I have SPS anywhere from the top (3" from surface), all the way to a couple inches off the sand bed. I have moved a few corals up or down to get them dialed in to get them to color up nicely.

I have a 75g tank with a 400 w metal halide.
Also I know they like more flow so I plan to keep them in the one half of my tank as the flow is a lot better there than at the other end seems this is set up peninsula style.
