Thank you for the quick response and I can live with LPS and softies down low with maybe some SPS near the top for now. I know eventually I'll need to upgrade the light to do clams or even anemones but for now its one less expense and one step closer to finally getting this tank set up.

It will work ok, however you won't be able to keep some of the more light demanding corals further down in the tank. I would recommend going with a 6 bulb if you're staying w/ T5's. I have a 48" 4 bulb t5ho fixture (216w) that I'm not using anymore and I would like to use it on a 95g wave front tank that I have been working on setting up. The tank is 24" deep and I would like to set it up to be a mixed reef tank. I've found alot of information online but this will be my first SW tank and one thing I have learned so far is to ask when I have any questions about something.
