I was constantly emptying the collection cup. Once we started added more fish (including two tangs) upgrading was the only option. I currently don't remember which one I bought but it's a beast. The new one skims like crazy and I still had to empty the gallon+ sized collection cup weekly. After about two months, the skimmer caught up with the production of wastes and I now empty it about twice a month.  I imagine you'll find yourself in a similar situation. ]]>

If you don't already have one I would look into a newer design of skimmer. ASM's are an old design, there is much better skimmers out there now around the same price point. ]]>
