I am starting to wonder if one sound louder because of a the sound reflecting off the wall and the other one doesn't.

Turn the pumps on full power in constant speed mode. Make slight adjustments to the positioning of the wet side. The cable is coming straight up. Haven't yet messed with it yet I will later. I had that problem with my MP40s. Try pulling the wet sides out and disassembling them. Soak them in vinegar for an hour or two.
