Author: 1stupidpunk
Subject: 71083
Posted: April 28 2014 at 5:52am

The general practice is to add two powerheads, one on each side of the tank, pointed toward the surface at the center of the tank. This will add enough movement to keep the water circulating and remove dead spots. How much flow and how big of powerhead/pump/wavemaker is completely up your personal preference for a fish only tank (actually the type of fish will have a factor as well).

If your not looking to spend much money than id look for 2 used Koralia 1050s from here on the forums. If you want something that will be a bit more reliable then i would go with a Jebao WP25/WP10 combo. If you really want a top of the line you can spend your money on a MP40/MP10 combo.

It sounds like your just starting out in the hobby and you most likely have tons of other things you will want/need to buy... so if it were me i would pick up a few used Koralias and save your money!
