The relay ought to be mounted well away from the tank. Success! I water tested the thing today and it seems to work great. I didn't realize how high the water level had to get on the floats before they switches so the backup switch lets the water get pretty high before it trips; I don't think it will be a problem though.

Looks really nice. Can't you build an acrylic cage to keep the snails out?


Or you just use hermits instead.

I've almost got all the hardware for my zoanthid tank. Lights are coming in saturday and I still need to build a hood for them. I picked up the wrong kind of relay today so I'll exchange it for one that will work tomorrow. I still need to figure out a way to snail-proof the float switches, any ideas?
