Just measured the top on the 120 stand. 40.5 inches from the floor. I think mine is going to be at the bottom of my stairs when you walk into the family room, kind of at the back of the landing, by itself.

That may just depend on the space for it.  My 180 is in about a 9 foot alcove, and centered so if fits right in.

Jdinchak, 40" is the height I've been thinking of going with. If feels like a good viewing height, but won't feel too tall. I think that's what my old 125 gal was at...

If you truly want it so you don't have to bend over then measure from the floor to your eyes and then subtract 9" (half the height of the tank) that way the center of the tank is at eye level. This usually makes for a very tall stand but will give you a starting point. Then you can subtract more inches until you find what you are looking for.
