I personally like the display of my current Apex and find it to be sufficient. With how many issues new products encounter along with all of the issues I've had with my current Neptune products, I personally believe the new Apex is worth holding out on until it receives some real world feedback.

I don't want to throw Neptune under the bus but I think they need to invest and focus on better customer service prior to releasing new products. I can't tell you how many times I've called their line only to reach their voicemail. When these controllers encounter problems which cause your tank to malfunction, waiting 4 days for an email response to begin troubleshooting just isn't ideal.

My DOS has caused endless headaches which is unfortunate because it's great when it's working properly. I wish I could give Neptune more credit but when it comes to poor customer service, it's far more upsetting than the issues that arise with the products themselves...

I don't have an aquarium controller so I looked at this one fresh when all the emails started to trickle in. I did not see much of a difference at all, and since its new, its several hundred more over the previous one. 

I plan on getting a controller in the next couple of months and hope this one is awesome. I saw that Vertex is launching something too.

I have 3 and to spend $750 on them plus the system makes no sense to me. 

Also I have 8 aquabus ports right now between the main and 1 eb8. With the new one I will only have 5. So I will have to have 3 of the new energy bars no matter what!

I would love the features but not enough to upgrade right now.  I have been asking Terence for years about power monitoring (that other controllers have been doing for a while).  Not sure it's worth swapping out.  The power bars are nice but like 250 a pop, I have 2 on mine so really adds up. 

I think I missed some of the other features they discussed.  Based on their FAQ a lot of it will be used in both systems.

So what do you all think of the new apex? 

Anyone want to buy my old ones lol ? 


Interesting stuff, not sure that I am "Sold" on the new one. Especially if they are going to support the old one and new equipment/modules will still work on the old ones. 

Curious of all your thoughts .
