I have seen some build a small dam from clay to fill with water to help cool and lubricate the bit during drilling. You may want to consider a way to do this in a vertical position. Go slow and let the bit do all the work. Do not force it.<br /><br />Good luck.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1105">dallan07</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 8647<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> November&nbsp;22&nbsp;2005 at 4:05pm<br /><br />I have been looking into drilling my existing 125g for a while now which by the way is full of livestock.&nbsp; On ReefCentral.com their is a thread that talks about drilling with a diamond coated hole saw.&nbsp; You can buy one off the net from China for about 10 $&nbsp; and supposedly (according to all the pics posted on the thread it, it works).&nbsp; I ordered my bit today and when it gets here I am going to drain my tank half way and give it hell.&nbsp; Talking to guys at glass shops they say if done right my 3/8" glass should be fine.&nbsp; From there I am building an overflow out of glass and will have it glued in place while the water is low.&nbsp; I am pretty sure it should work out.&nbsp; Otherwise I will have alot of mess to clean up.&nbsp; If anyone has any tips let me know and I will keep this thread posted on how it goes]]>

Try Kelly Glass & Supply in Ogden. They are actually right near Aquatic Dreams (I hope Ryan doesn't mind me post this). They do an excellent job - they can glass blast the hole rather than drill it. It eliminates any sharp edges. <br />Good luck.]]>
