what if it was stung continually for the past 4 months? its a finger leather that was to close to them until they decided to move away from the leather. when i touch the spots that it stung it feels rough compared to the other side where its slimy and smooth.

i would just move it, keep it at about the same level in the tank if poss. maybe add some iodide and iodine to help it on its way. but that is very normal for leathers in the situation. if it was real bad it would turn to slime.

Don't add both iodide and iodine at the same time unless you have an test kit for it. Bad things happen when you have too much I in the tank. One or the other is plenty. The coral should fully recover with a little time.

I was going to ask a simmilar question. Hope this doesn't look like a hijack. I got an sp from fragstock and thought it was far enough from my anemone but the anemone moved and stug just a small part. I noticed it the next day and moved it. will it be alright?

just for what its worth you can dose both Iodine and Iodide at the same time. its called lugols solution. i have used it for years and never tested for either!!! Tests normally will only show one anyway! if you follow the directions and watch your corals it should be fine. if you are worried just do half the amount. im surprised that came up.
