Which is better, less apt to fail? The swamp cooler type of valve or the electronic float valve?

I haven't had my electronic Float for too long, but I love it!

I've only had one Swamp style float fail on me, (stick on) don't know what
happened just came home to five gallons on the floor.

I still use that style on my cooler, and my RO unit. Niether of those have
failed for me.

I would guess the electronic is more likely to fail. They use a reed switch
and very very small guage wire, like a 20awg

But their failure I'd imagine would be in the OFF position.

I've never used the swamp cooler type, only the electronic.  If done properly, I don't think there should be much difference in failure rates.

You can get switches from floatswitches.net for really cheap so you can put two or more of them in series so you shouldn't have any catastrophic failures.

I have been very happy with my kent float valve. It is an all plastic design vs the swamp cooler style
