i think most people in saltwater dont use them b/c they just harbor deutritis. If you were rinsing them out every week maybe this would be a different story. nto sure. I just use the sock

Thanks Crystal I wasnt sure if people used them in saltwater.

no problem. Your liverock, sand, and skimmer should provide adequete filtration for your tank

Some people think they work too good - causing uncontrollable nitrite and nitrate spikes.  Most salt water people don't use 'em.
