I got a canary blenny last week and he's not eating. I should have checked before I bought him, but I wasn't really worried because I didn't think this was really an issue with this group. I started him in quarantine and he was starting to thin and was still not taking anything, so I threw him in my main tank. The only thing I've seen him munch on is a spaghetti worm thing. I've only tried my regular food- mysis, cyclopeeze, pellet, nori, chaeto. His weight seems to have stabilized but he's still really thin and pinched looking in the belly. He mostly hovers over the LR and makes an occasional strike. This is during the day so there aren't really any pods out there. I don't see him foraging much after lights out, but he must be. I have plenty of pods if that's all he'll eat (125 tank w/ 125 sump, no other obligate pod eaters) but I want to get him on some normal food. Any ideas?

From LiveAquaria.com I got: "The diet of the Canary Blenny should consist of finely chopped crustacean flesh, mysid and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp as well as frozen herbivore preparations"

All the lawnmower/herbivore type blennys I have had have eaten right away. My Midas Blenny didn't eat for a couple days. I would feed mysis on your regular feeding schedule, hope he is eating some algae, and try to make sure he isn't stressed.

Good luck!
Mike
